Diane Zelaya is a Master Hairstylist, Curl Expert, and Hair Color Specialist with over two decades of experience in the beauty industry. Her passion for hair began in her hometown of Austin, Texas in 2004, and in 2016, she brought her creative spark to the Bay Area—quickly falling in love with its vibrant culture and energy.

Renowned for her expertise in curly hair, Diane has mastered a range of professional curl-cutting skills designed to enhance natural curl patterns, reduce frizz, and improve overall curl health and manageability. Her training includes advanced techniques trained in DevaCurl, Ouidad, and other specialized carving and pruning methods. She customizes each cut based on her client’s unique curl pattern, density, and lifestyle—helping clients embrace and enhance their natural texture, from soft waves to tight coils.

Diane combines technical mastery with artistry and care, ensuring that every client receives the highest quality in cut, color, and overall experience—both in the salon and at home. Her commitment to continuous learning through advanced education keeps her at the forefront of her craft.

Today, Diane proudly welcomes clients to Bay Vibrant Salon Studios, located in the heart of downtown Old Oakland inside the historic Swan’s Market courtyard. Her mission is simple: to help every client look and feel their absolute best—while falling in love with their hair.
